All clients will be supported through a clinical assessment as a first step. This will involve speaking with the child, their parents, families, carers, teachers and other supporting adults, to identify areas to target in therapy.
Following on from the assessment, a range of evidence-based therapies are available according to the needs of the child. Most often this will involve Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support the child to identify unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaviour, and to replace those with more helpful patterns.
When working with children, it is essential to consider them within the systems in which they exist i.e. home, school, social groups, and families. At Bright Minds Clinical Psychology we can offer support and training to those around the child.
